You can save almost $1,400 this year with
this easy 52-week money saving challenge.
It is so simple! Each week, simply deposit the
number of that week of the year into a
savings plan (a simple jar, like me, or a bank
account and earn interest). For example, the
first week of 2015, you would deposit $1; the
second week, $2; and so on and so on. By
the end of the year, you will have saved
close to $1,400! You could also start at the
end of the chart and work your way up that
way too!
Use the money for Christmas 2014, take a
vacation or just have it for emergencies!

"razor nick fixers."
15. As a sewing backing. Use a filter as an
easy-to-tear backing for embroidering or
appliqueing soft fabrics.

Not just for coffee--
Vicks Vapor Rub has been around for
YEARS!!! Most use it for a decongestant but
some use it for so much more!
~Got a cough? Rub some on your feet before
bed and put socks on..studies show that it
works 100% of the time. Although scientists
discovered this remedy, they are not sure
how or why it works, but it does. And it works
every time.
~Muscle Aches? Rub it on muscles that are
bothering you... It increases circulation and
provides almost instant aid.
~ Paper Cuts/Splinters
I do this all the time and works great! Prevent
infection and speed up healing time, dab a
small amount of Vicks on any small cut or
splinter.
~Summertime Mosquitoes
Mosquitoes hate the smell of Vicks. Apply
small amount of Vicks to your skin and
clothes and mosquitoes will steer clear. Also
great if you do get bitten to relieve itching.
Homemade House Cleaner
Seriously... Just do it. You will never buy
another store bought cleaner again. This
stuff is amazing.
What you need:
-1 Professional Spray Bottle (it is worth the
extra $1, trust me!)
-8 oz. Distilled White Vinegar
-4 oz. Lemon Juice
-2 oz. Liquid Soap (I use Dawn)
-2 tsp. Baking Soda
-10 oz water
To Mix:
Add the Baking Soda and Vinegar FIRST and
let it fizzle out BEFORE adding the rest of the
ingredients because it will foam. Funnel in all
the ingredients, squeeze out the suds, screw
on your cap and go make your bathroom
sparkle!
To Use:
Clear the surfaces, use toilet tissue to wipe
off any dirt, hair, spilled liquids, ect. Using the
lightest spray setting, spray down everything-
sink, counter, mirror, faucets, tub and the
whole toilet, inside and out. I let it sit while I
sweep the floor. I then use a microfiber cloth
to wipe down the surfaces from the cleanest
to the dirtiest. In our house that means mirror,
faucets, sink, tub/shower and then the toilet.
Be sure to rinse out the tub/shower really
well so it isn't slippery.
Stubborn stains in your tub?
Whether its a dirt ring at the top or dirt stuck
in the textured bottom, this will solve your
problem! Spray down the problem area
heavily, and then using a sponge with a non-
scratch scrubber, scrub in a circular motion.
Again, rinse very well and then put on your
shades because its going to be shiny.
"Homemade Laundry Detergent"
Save Money and It last a long time....
Wash in any temperature.
1 (4 lb 12 oz) Box of Borax- Found in the
detergent aisle
1 (3 lb 7 oz) Box of Arm & Hammer Super
Washing Soda- Found in the detergent aisle
2 (14.1 oz) Bars of Zote Soap- Found in the
detergent aisle (we chose to do pink for the
scent but the white would be just fine. You
can also use Fels Naptha)
1 (4 lb) Box of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda-
Found in the cooking aisle (You could also
get two 2 lb box, we couldn’t find the larger
4lb box when we went)
1-2 (55 oz) Bottle of Purex Crystals Fabric
Softener (which can be found in the
detergent aisle). Optional
The hardest most time consuming part is
grating the cheese soap. It looks like pink
cheese….has anyone ever seen pink
cheese? If you do not have a food processor
you will need to use a typical hand grater.
We would recommend using a large mixing
bowl to grate into and using the fine side of
the grater. The hardest part is now over and
all that’s left is to mix everything together.
Use a very large bucket and take a layering
approach to mix it easier. Take a small
amount of each ingredient and layer it on top
of each other, then grab a large mixing spoon
and mixed it together. Do this about 5 times.
This is so much easier than dumping all the
ingredients in at once and then trying to u it
well. This batch makes A TON! Now for
probably the best part…
you only need 1-2 Tablespoons per load
depending on the size.
Now here comes the stroke of genius, if you
opted to put the Purex Crystals in your batch,
you can scoop the detergent right into your
bottle and use the cap as your measuring
spoon. There are 3 lines on the side and the
middle one is approximately 2 Tablespoons…
Chore box
Do you have kids who leave their electronics, back packs,
books...the list goes on...laying around? When you find
them, put them in the box and they pick a chore!!! Give it a
try!! I do this in my house...
we call it Jail and it works great...LOL

~Homemade Fabric Softener~
6 cups water

DIY No-Slip Hangers! How easy is this?
Wrap a pipe cleaner around the ends of the hanger and BAM! you're done! And you can see it works on different size hangers!!
If you've got kids you probably have pipe cleaners (or chenille stems as they are called now) laying around. If not you can get them at Walmart or the Dollar Tree!
